  • The Process

    If you are ready to feel freer in your life, be in control of your environment, and be surrounded by the things you need, want, and love, we can help! Every client’s organizing solutions are customized because every client is a unique person with a unique set of organizing challenges.

    After our initial contact via phone or email, we’ll start with an in-home consultation. That’s when you’ll show me around your home and discuss your organizing challenges and desires. (Yay! This part is free of charge!) At the end of the consultation, if you are ready to begin your organizing journey, we’ll schedule a working session to get started.

    Each working session (3 – 4 hours) will start with a quick “analyze and strategize” phase, and then the fun part, we ‘”attack.” During the attack phase, we will sort and categorize. You will be making all of the decisions. Then we will organize and put away that which you choose to keep. As we attack your space we will be discussing organizing ideas, suggestions, skills, and best practices. We will also discuss what changes may need to be made in the way of habits or routines in order to maintain your new organizing system.

    If the project is ongoing (more than one session) and you’re up for it, we’ll decide on some “fieldwork” – a few tasks you want to accomplish on your own in between sessions. When the project is complete, Fit for a Queen will follow up with you a few weeks later to see how your new system is working and if any changes need to be made. Then, alas!, you carry on living a freer and more organized life!

  • Meet Beth

    I’m Beth Mickelson (Michael-son), professional organizer and owner of Fit for a Queen – a professional organizing service based in Thief River Falls, MN. From teaching and training to flipping houses and residential cleaning, my professional life has allowed me to do what I love most, be of service to others.

    I have always loved helping others organize! That’s what led me to the professional organizing industry. I have to admit though – I was not born organized! For most of my life I have definitely had challenges with too much stuff (or not enough room!), and not having proper ‘homes’ for what I did have. I understand what it’s like to live with clutter!

    Since becoming a professional organizer in 2019 I have done a ton of research, taken many classes and webinars, read lots of books, studied coaching, ‘practiced’ on family and friends, and worked with paying clients. As I have learned the ways of organizing, I have learned how to keep the things I truly need, want, or love, let go of the rest, and implement systems that work specifically for me. If you’re ready to live a freer, more peaceful, and more productive life, I am ready to help.

    My superpowers are meeting people where they’re at, breaking down projects into manageable tasks, and partnering with people to identify and accomplish their goals. When I’m not organizing, I absolutely love making pottery, gardening, and working on DIY projects around the house.

    I am a professional member of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO), an organization with over 3,500 members worldwide dedicated to helping people and organizations bring order and efficiency to their lives.
